Note: Shelf is secured with a concrete anchor that holds the bracket plate in place. An additional adjustment plate is secured between the plate and the wall. Adjustments are made via a 1/2" grub screw that tightens against the adjustment plate.

The bracket goes into the wall. The shelf slides over it. What's left on the wall is wood and a shadow line — no visible hardware, no corbel, no cable.

Wall plate

Bolts through the plate into framing. This is the only part that touches the wall.

Concealed arm

The shelf slides over the arm and hides it completely. Nothing visible once it's seated.

Shelf body

2" or 2.5" thick, routed for its bracket. Ships unfinished in any of fifteen species.

Do I have to buy brackets separately?

No. Every PLY-LOC floating shelf includes the brackets it needs, already matched to the shelf and routed for. Brackets are also sold on their own if you're building a shelf yourself or replacing hardware on one you already own.

Why does it ship unfinished?

Because a factory topcoat is a decision made for you, and it's the one thing you can't undo. Raw wood takes stain, oil, wax, or paint — and it lets you match a shelf to cabinetry or trim that already exists in the room. Paint Grade HDF is there for anyone who knows from the start that it's getting painted.

How much weight will it actually hold?

Each bracket's rating is in its product name — 100 lb through 1,000 lb per pair, depending on the system. Ratings assume the plate is fastened into framing, not drywall alone. If you're planning a long span or a heavy load, the rating you need is the one to shop by first, and the shelf second.

What if you don't stock my size?

Send us the cut list. Stocked widths, depths, and thicknesses go straight to the product page; anything outside that routes through the custom order form and gets quoted by the people who actually build it. There's no automatic price on custom work because the spec drives the cost.
